Observation #6 – Services Marketing – Final Report Presentation

This observation was about students’ communication and research. The students have developed some marketing analysis related to companies in Tampere and had the final presentation in this class.

The work was about using some qualitative research method to analyze the customers’ perceptions regarding some companies in Tampere.

The groups have work about a Coffee Store, Ice Cream Parlor and a Spa.

The course lasts for 8 weeks approximately and in some cases they couldn’t develop a new project for companies. The students reflect about theories by applying it in real situations. The work is about a creating a report regarding marketing analysis and also presentations.

Some groups also have proposed some changes in companies’ business models, but they didn’t have time to follow the changes proposed.

Researches were carried out with basically a sample of 100 to 120 people. The students have answered some questionnaire.

After presentations, teacher did some considerations about the research methods used by students, presentation and final report.

Environment: students have used basically PowerPoint and Prezi to present their works.

Social environment: it could be observed the interaction between students and their groups. Presentations occurred in a normal class, using technological tools.

Psychological environment: teacher gave some tips regarding marketing and services design and autonomy also could be observed once students have chosen their preferred research method and form to access customers perceptions.
